Significant hardware and specifications upgrades are visible on the FCC certification database for the highly-anticipated Nothing Phone 3. Nothing’s new device has been sold as its first real flagship smartphone as we get closer to the official launch on July 1, and it’s not hard to understand why based on what’s been confirmed.
A recent listing on the FCC (via TheTechOutlook) reveals that the model number for the upcoming Nothing Phone 3 is A024, with the phone booting Android 15 based on Nothing OS 3.3. Besides the software, its hardware upgrades are on the 5G, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth and NFC fronts. But the highlight is clearly its 5150mAh battery, which is an increase over the 4700mAh cell of the previous generation.
In addition, we will see a significant increase in wired charging speeds with the phone 3 from Nothing. Its wired fast charging maxes out at 65W, compared to the Nothing Phone (2) with 45W charging support. The Wireless Charging 3.0 speeds are not explicitly mentioned on the listing, although it should return with this flagship model.
In another leak surrounding the Nothing Phone 3, a huge 6.7-inch LTPO OLED display with 1.5K resolution was shown. This puts the device in line with the current crop of flagship smartphones and also limits power usage.
The Nothing Phone 3 would be based on the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, under the hood, that is supposed to consume less power and offer peak performance. For those in love with cameras, there is plenty to be excited about, also. Its rear camera system is said to comprise a 50MP main unit, a 50MP 3x periscope, and a 50MP ultra-wide. A 50MP selfie camera on the front will definitely serve both casual users and content makers well.
