Assassin’s Creed Shadows DLC: Claws of Awaji Coming Soon

NEW CONTENT Ubisoft has finally announced the release date for their upcoming Assassin’s Creed Shadows DLC, which sees the Claws of Awaji DLC arrive on 16 September. This highly anticipated DLC adds about 10 hours of new gameplay with a new island to explore, brand new weapon set, special abilities, new gear reskins and add a new playable character.

Pre-orders of Assassin’s Creed Shadows include the Claws of Awaji DLC for free. But pricing for the standalone expansion hasn’t been announced.

Before the DLC’s release, Assassin’s Creed Shadows players will be able to enjoy the release of the New Game+ mode July 29. It’s all part of Ubisoft’s larger summer infrastructure, so you can expect plenty of hot and fresh new content in the shooter.

What Is on the Way in the New Game+ Update?

The New Game+ mode allows players to replay the story following the final mission and retain their character level, gear, skill points, and Hideout progress. Assassin’s Creed Shadows DLC update further upping the level cap to 80 and adding in the new Knowledge Rank 10, Forge Level 4 and all-new achievements.

The player may elect to replay the story from the beginning or skip ahead to the point when Naoe acquires the hideout.

  • Forge progression for Mythic, Artifact gear
  • Hideout and stability improvements
  • Uncapped framerate for cutscenes (PC)

More Content Still in Development

Ubisoft also clarified that more significant expansions are still in development for the game. A co-op mode, provisionally titled League, is said to be aiming for a 2026 release and will include other character pairs as Naoe and Yasuke.

Another multiplayer mode called Invictus will feel up to 18 players in a gameplay format similar to that of Fall Guys. Though these modes are still in the distant future, Ubisoft’s primary attention for now remains on the core game and Assassin’s Creed Shadows DLC.

Ubisoft thanked players for their feedback and help, particularly in relation to the recent Nightmare difficulty level, enhancements to Photo Mode, as well as its collaborations with Dead by Daylight and Critical Role.
