Only a few months remain until the iPhone 17 series launch, and leaks are already showing us whats next. The most recent rumour suggested that iPhone 17 Pro colours will get their “truest and… most saturated” shade so far, with the Pro models tipped to arrive in “incredibly vivid and saturated” colours. If true, it will be a significant departure from Apple’s normal design mantra.
iPhone 17 Pro Colors Leaked In Dummy Units
The leaker posted X) recently four dummy models of iPhone 17 series on X (before known as Twitter, displaying all four models that are expected — including the iPhone 17 Air, which is rumored. In the iPhone 17 Pro colours though, especially the Pro and Pro Max models, the difference is much more pronounced – you’ll see the new models in glossier, darker, more saturated finishes, with an extra emphasis on the fact that these are the top-end Apple phones.
Leaked iPhone 17 Pro colors :
- Black
- White
- Navy Blue
- Orange — first for a Pro model
This orange one is especially important. With Apple, stylish sidesteps such as those are typically reserved for the regular models. The orange in the iPhone 17 Pro colours may indicate a radical change in design for Apple’s premium line.
New Colors for iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air
Both the regular iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air will also receive a bump in the colour department. In the breach, they say:
- Black
- White
- Light Blue
But the distinction is found in the 4th colour:
- The iPhone 17 might have a light pink colorway.
- The iPhone 17 Air is pictured in gold — unusual for a non-Pro iPhone.
On the back of a non-Pro face there is a gold option, which could indicate that Apple plans to mix up how it doles out premium colour options across the range.
What This Means for Buyers
If these are indeed the iPhone 17 Pro colours, it’s very welcome – it’s generally been the case that people who like bright colours have had to stick to the regular models and avoid Pro ones. Given the orange and navy blue potential iPhone 17 Pro hues, Apple could be seen to be jettisoning the conseravtive look which has dominated its premium range for so long.
Also, delivering gold to the iPhone 17 Air might mean consumers don’t have to shell out for the Pro Max version in order to get that premium aesthetic?
A Colour Strategy Shift
The old Apple colour playbook would have held onto the vibrant finishes for the standard models, and dished out muted, industrial ones for the Pros. But leaks this year indicate iPhone 17 Pro colours could change all that, with new insider designs based on the popularity of more colourful designs.
