AMD‘s new workstation behemoth – the Radeon AI PRO R9700 – is in the process of making its retail debut with ASRock and GIGABYTE coming through with custom models. First unveiled during Computex, the Radeon AI PRO R9700 was commercially released last month. AMD’s board partners are only now shipping the fastest RDNA 4 GPU for your professional use cases, after limited initial availability.
Most recently, a Redditor posted about getting the GIGABYTE Radeon AI PRO R9700 32 GB GPU that has a similar Turbo Fan-and-blower-style design to the one in the reference render. This variant retails for $1220, but once shipping and taxes were added we ended up at $1324. In other cases, the ASRock Creator Radeon in AI PRO R9700 also emerged at Newegg at a price of $1329. The specs are identical, 4096 Stream Processors, 128 ROPs, and 32 GB GDDR6 memory with ECC support on both GPUs.
A step up from the Radeon RX 9070 XT, the Radeon AI PRO R9700 costs nearly double but features double the memory capacity for AI and productivity workloads. It also offers ECC memory support on Linux for stability (of course the R9700 also supports it). Other AMD board partners, such as ASUS and Sapphire, are due for their custom Radeon AI PRO R9700 editions in the very near term.
The Radeon AI PRO R9700 now positions itself as the one to rule them all in the land of AI, rendering, and workstation processing for the highest performance needs of professionals. It features a 256-bit memory interface, high TDP performance, and optimizations for workstation productivity, so this GPU is designed for power users.

While initial listings for the Radeon AI PRO R9700 are focusing on the end-of-roadmap segment, consumers can expect the series to progressively trickle into retail alongside expanded listings; price stabilization may come only with wider shipments. These ASRock and GIGABYTE editions show off what type of RDNA 4 architecture performance and design philosophy we can expect AMD to bring to the professional user.
