Apple has introduced three new iPads, featuring a base 2025 model equipped with an A16 chip and 128GB of storage, priced at $349.
The design sees minimal changes, retaining the same 11-inch display, cameras, and accessories as the 2022 iPad.
In terms of performance, the new model is said to be 30% faster than its 2022 predecessor and six times quicker than leading Android tablets.
The 5G models begin at $499 and offer storage options of up to 512GB. Pre-orders are currently open, with a release date set for March 12.
Apple’s iPad refresh 2025: subtle upgrades, consistently low price
Apple has released its latest lineup of iPads, but major changes are not to be anticipated. The tech giant discreetly introduced three new tablets today, with the 2025 base iPad taking center stage—a device that focuses on performance and storage rather than design innovation.
A16 chip upgrade: Replacing the A14 Bionic, the new processor promises 30% faster performance than the 2022 model and a 50% jump for users upgrading from a 2021 iPad.
Apple even claims up to 6x faster performance than leading Android competitors (likely Samsung’s Galaxy Tab series). Double the base storage: For $349, buyers now get 128GB of storage — up from 64GB in 2022 — making it a better deal for budget-conscious users.

5G and storage options: Cellular models start at $499, with configurations up to 512GB ($799).
What’s Unchanged?
Critics will point out the design similarities with the 2022 iPad:
The device features an 11-inch Liquid Retina display, which is slightly larger than the 10.9-inch model it replaces. It is equipped with 12MP front and rear cameras, a Touch ID sensor, a USB-C 2.0 port, and comes in various color options, including Silver, Blue, Pink, and Yellow. It does not support Apple Intelligence, further solidifying its status as an entry-level device.

Although the upgrades are gradual, Apple’s pricing strategy ensures that the iPad remains competitive. Priced at $349, it offers a more affordable option compared to premium Android tablets while delivering strong performance for everyday activities such as streaming, browsing, and light productivity.
