Using a brief video, ASUS ROG Matrix RTX 5090 is looking to be ASUS’ next-gen flagship GPU design. This high-end ASUS ROG Matrix RTX 5090 introduces a new full-custom appearance, with a circular shroud end and ROG branding reflected by Infinity Mirror RGB lighting.
After the ROG Astral launch, ASUS is seemingly preparing another premium edition for the GeForce RTX 5090 series. The ASUS ROG Matrix RTX 5090 will also feature a triple-fan design while retaining top-tier cooling performance but will have a new Infinity Mirror shroud. ASUS is one of the most prolific premium board partners, churning out high-end editions such as the ROG Strix and ROG Astral, which tend to be quite a bit more expensive than competing GeForce RTX 5090 models.
In addition to the ROG Astral RTX 5090 gold edition making headlines with a $500K price tag, also coming is the ASUS ROG Matrix RTX 5090, but this price should not be actual kidding $500K and more likely just below $3000 in line with existing GeForce RTX 5090 price guidelines in the [..] In a teaser image shared on ASUS ROG’s official Facebook page, we see the large shroud tapering at the end into a round shape allowing for a custom infinity mirror RGB signature, potentially user-adjustable, to fill that space.
Traces of a triple-fan cooler as well with the ASUS ROG Matrix RTX 5090. The second fan is partially hidden in the teaser, but a closer inspection reveals all three fans are the same size. This ASUS ROG Matrix RTX 5090 is air-cooled compared to the liquid-cooled ROG Matrix RTX 4090, but it does borrow some design sapience from the ROG Matrix RTX 2080 Ti, which also featured an Infinity Mirror design while being a hybrid-cooled solution.

This also opens up the space to integrate an AIO cooler for the ASUS ROG Matrix RTX 5090, which could allow for better thermals without having to mount a separate radiator. If accurate, the ASUS ROG Matrix RTX 5090 would combine a premium aesthetic and exceptional cooling with an out-of-the-box boost clock capable of pushing up a significant amount of perf. Enthusiasts will also get a proper PCB tailored for manual overclocking, one that would allow more performance from the ASUS ROG Matrix RTX 5090 to be unleashed.
Futuristic looks, overclocking-ready aftermarket cooling, and top-shelf performance tuning make sure that the ASUS ROG Matrix RTX 5090 is set to become one of the most coveted flagship graphics cards of 2024. Expect an official announcement (and hopefully some performance details) for the ASUS ROG Matrix RTX 5090 in the very near future — and make no mistake, this design is purely intended for system domination of gaming setups and demo builds alike.
