Casio has announced that its special edition Casio G-Shock watches will be available in additional countries and we can now look forward to seeing the G-Shock x Katsushika Hokusai series in European stores. Casiodwjapan have created gold-coloured DW-5600 models before, however the 2025DW-5600KHG25-1 and DW-5200KHK25-1 – released in Japan in early 2025 – were among the most successful among collectors and fans of the iconic Casio G-Shock.
Bearing on the legendary Edo-period Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai, these Casio G-Shock watches feature his Great Wave off Kanagawa artwork. Model based on the woodblock print, ‘Fine Wind, Clear Morning’ and the vivid orange Mount Fuji set against a deep blue sky, the Casio G-Shock DW-5600KHG25-1 Body: Resin Band: Nylon Case width: 48mm Shock Resistance Electro-luminescent backlight Water and scratch resistance Daily alarm Hourly time multi-face Auto calendar Stopwatch Countdown timer Fully adjustable multi-alarm Mount Fuji graphic only on the band. The Casio G-Shock DW-5600KHK25-1, meanwhile, draws from an image of the world-famous Great Wave off Kanagawa by Hokusai, with deep blue waves against a soft light yellow backdrop.
The two Casio G-Shock watches have now been added to the Casio online stores in the Netherlands, Germany and other European countries. The Casio G-Shock x Hokusai models will have a price tag of €119 in the EU. The DW-5600KHK25-1 will also be made available in the UK and should cost £99.90, again Casio has not specified an exact release date. Want in on one of these Casio G-Shock editions? Casio G-Shock Design and Features
The new Casio G-Shock x Katsushika Hokusai watches are based on the original DW-5600 series which is popular for durability and reliability. Every G-Shock by Casio has a digital face that displays the time, date and the day of the week. Other features include a 1/100 second stopwatch, a countdown timer, hourly time signals and a multi-function alarm.
For a bit of visibility in low light conditions, the Casio G-Shock models feature an LED backlight, and the 200m water resistance will allow for the watch to be excellent for those times when you want to dive into the deep end. You still get that rugged Casio G-Shock DNA in the resin bezel, case and band here, and the dimensions come in at 48.9 x 42.8 x 13.4 mm with a total weight of 52g. Every Casio G-Shock model is battery operated and will run (given the cell life) anywhere from 4.5 to 5 years.
Availability Beyond Europe
The Casio G-Shock x Hokusai editions have been confirmed for a release in Europe, but so far, there has been no word on a U.S. release. Those outside Europe who want their wrist to get meta will have to wait for Casio to offer additional information on the potential global release of the Casio G-Shock special editions.
These Katsushika Hokusai x Casio G-Shock watches are an expression of Japanese culture heritage along with the legendary toughness of Casio which is the perfect fit for both collectors of wrist wear and G-Shock fans globally.
