The long-awaited open-world action/adventure title was previously scheduled to its release in Q4 2025, will instead launched a few months later. This change comes after the developer announced he wanted to take his time with voice-overs, console certification, and offline distribution aspects.
In a presentation covering its results from the second quarter of fiscal year 2025 (on the left), the CEO of Pearl Abyss said the reason the Crimson Desert release date was moved was due to schedules taking longer than originally planned when working with multiple partners. With marketing plans, including those to show the game off at both Gamescom and PAX West in August, as well as the Tokyo Game Show in September, now being finalized by the studio.

Pearl Abyss announced that attendees will still be able to play a build of the game at the next big major gaming event, despite this delay.
Crimson Desert will release for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S|X when it eventually releases. For now, fans can ‘save the date’ for early 2026 and look forward to new gameplay footage over the next few months.
