Focus Entertainment and Saber Interactive have unveiled the long-awaited Year 2 roadmap for Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2, offering fans all the reasons to cheer. The new round of updates begins on September 4, 2025–a week before the game will turn one year old.
Now, one of the most exciting points on the Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 roadmap is the upcoming addition of a brand new playable class — the Techmarine — which should shake-up gameplay dynamics. Along with the new Techmarine, they’re also introducing new game modes, new missions, new operations, additional weapons, enemies, and bosses as well. They’ll all be made available as free updates, so every player can experience the core content at no extra charge.
Season pass specifics are still being finalized, but Saber Interactive will also offer optional, paid cosmetic content via the Year 2 season pass, contributing to the overall expansion of gameplay over the course of the year alongside free updates. Of course, these cosmetics are purely for aesthetics, so players won’t miss out on any new missions or classes if they skip them.
The announcement of this roadmap comes after the successful release of Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2, which has moved over 7 million units since its release last year. Saber Interactive isn’t only continuing to work on updates, however. The studio is already confirmed to be working on Space Marine 3, so it’s clear that it is in this for the long haul.
While Wccftech praised the action-filled combat in Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 in an earlier review, we did note some repetitiveness as time goes on. Regardless, the Year 2 roadmap indicates that, for fans of the Warhammer universe and fast-paced third-person action, Space Marine 2 is continuing to grow and evolve with new and exhilarating content.
