Galaxy S25 Ultra is about to get a big software update. A stable version of One UI 8, based on Android 16, has shown up online with firmware version BYFB. That “B” means it’s likely a release candidate — one step away from public rollout. Earlier test versions had a “Z,” marking them as beta.
This leak comes just before Samsung’s Unpacked event on July 9, where the company is expected to focus on new foldables. Seeing a stable S25 Ultra build now suggests the update could land shortly after the event. If that happens, the S25 Ultra might be one of the first to get One UI 8.
People using this early stable version say the update feels more polished than radically new. Some of the key changes include:
