HMD Global might be gearing up to launch its new smartphones— the HMD Crest 2, HMD Arc 2, and the HMD Bold. In fresh leaks, it is reported that these devices could be unveiled in the following weeks with upgraded chipsets and more RAM alternatives. The HMD Crest 2 should be the direct follow-up to the original HMD Crest that launched in India in July 2024 alongside the Crest Max 5G.

HMD Crest 2 chipset and RAM options emerge in a leak

According to a well-known tipster HMD_MEME’S (@smashx_60), the upcoming HMD Crest 2 will be equipped with the Unisoc T8300 5G chip. The phone may come in three RAM models: 4GB, 6GB, and 8GB. These improvements are successor-like upgrade points from the HMD Crest which had a Unisoc T760 5G chipset accompanied with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage.

In addition to the HMD Crest 2, HMD is apparently preparing two other devices — HMD Arc 2 and HMD Bold. And those handsets have not-so-secret code names, at least if you believe this source, who lists them as “Sudoku” and “Mahuze.” There’s also a new Unisoc SC9863A chipset that’s expected to power the HMD Arc 2, a subtle upgrade from the original HMD Arc’s Unisoc 9863A SoC. The HMD Bold might be powered by a Unisoc T7200 or Unisoc T7250 SoC, if reports are to be believed.

HMD Bold may also feature 4GB and 6GB RAM variants. We don’t know anything yet about exactly what the updated specifications will be, but these gradual improvements are signs that we’re looking for budget-oriented, performance-improving upgrades.
