Honor, however, could soon be planning a major shift in its tablet aspirations. Honor Tablet The Vice President of Honor China, Lin Lin, has revealed the possibility of a trimmed lineup for the Honor tablet series. A musing post by him in Weibo also raised speculation about the company’s intent to cut down on series of tablets it runs as well.
The Honor tablet lineup now has 5 series lines: the Digital (number) series, the X series, the V series, the GT series, as well as the MagicPad series. Lin Lin thinks that they each have different use cases and that all of these models could be confusing for consumers.
In his Weibo post, Lin Lin replied to a graph that showed all Honor tablets and also admitted that the lineup of Honor tablet series was too wide. His remark implied that there should be a simplification of the range to simplify product feastures.
Honor has already released five tablets in 2025, including that premium Honor Pad GT2 Pro. Meanwhile, a new compact model is said to be in works to take on the competing Redmi K Pad and RedMagic Astra. However, with this new additions, it remains to be seen if all lines of the Honor tablet series will be maintained.

One suggestion, posted on Weibo and attracting attention, was for Honor to concentrate on just three lines – MagicPad, GT, and a unified mid-range range. The MagicPad series might be aimed at professionals and enterprise users, whiel the GT series tablets might be aimed at those who simply want the highest performance, including gamers. From there a new midrange line could be built for everyday people it might not need a budget version of.
But Lin Lin wasn’t entirely sold. He pointed out that these concept make structural sense, but they don’t adequately reflect what real users need and who the target audiences are. That would mean that any future Honor tablet offerings would be data driven – they seemed to listen to what people wanted.
It would also help to have less confusing naming for a more polished Honor tablet series. The current system is confusing to say the least – the Honor Pad X8 Pro was released in China in July 2023 while in Europe and India as the Honor Pad X9, despite this being the same device.
Honor faces a turning point, particularly as it’s pretty reasonable to assume more tablets are due later in the year (particularly because the V series hasn’t been updated yet). The brand will have to decide to either further embellish the Honor tablet series or just streamline them for a stronger market presence.
If Lin Lin’s remarks are anything to go by, Honor appears to be favoring simplification. This would also result in less, but more precisely placed devices, making the brand more competitive with its competitors in the crowded tablet market.
There’s no official roadmap as yet, but if this rebranded effort is indeed an indication of what we can expect, a more simplified Honor tablet series could change the way the brand’s future products are received by consumers and industry watchers.
