Huawei is currently developing a successor to the Pocket 2, but the company has remained tight-lipped about its features and launch schedule.
Fortunately, the rumor mill has provided some insights into the Huawei Pocket 3, although more exciting details are likely to emerge as the launch date approaches.
Speaking of the launch, reliable insider Smart Pikachu has revealed some information about the Huawei Pocket 3.
According to this source, the foldable smartphone is expected to debut in China sometime after the Chinese Spring Festival, likely in February or March.
This timeline suggests that Huawei will beat Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Fold 7 to market, and it may also outpace local rivals like Xiaomi, which is anticipated to unveil the Mix Flip 2 this year as well.
In addition to the launch timeframe, Smart Pikachu indicated that the Pocket 3 will come in at least two different versions, although no further details regarding the distinctions between these versions were provided. What is known is that the Huawei Pocket 3 will be thinner, smaller, and lighter than the Pocket 2.
For context, the Pocket 2 measures 170 x 75.5 x 7.3 mm when unfolded, 87 x 75.5 x 15.3 mm when folded, and weighs approximately 200 grams. Its specifications include a Kirin chipset, a 6.94-inch OLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 1136 x 2690 pixels, up to 16 GB of RAM, a quad-camera setup (50 MP + 12 MP + 8 MP + 2 MP), and a 4,520 mAh battery.
In related news, Smart Pikachu also suggests that Huawei plans to release an intriguing tablet alongside the Pocket 3 foldable, but that is the extent of the information available at this time. As the launch of the Pocket 3 approaches, we expect additional details about the foldable and any other products Huawei intends to introduce alongside it to surface online.
