Monster Hunter Wilds to Receive Ongoing PC Performance Updates Beyond 2025

Monster Hunter Wilds is still a major seller for Capcom and the developer is stepping up its PC game in the years post-2025. After a number of players provided feedback around performance issues, Capcom has detailed a roadmap to improve the Monster Hunter Wilds experience on PC. Game Director Yuya Tokuda, however, confirmed that the development team is working to improve performance, which will gradually come through winter 2025 and beyond.

In a Director’s Letter published on 12 August 2025, Tokuda wrote,

The entire development team is diligently analyzing your feedback and are doing their best to implement multiple improvements and adjustments. We are sorry that it takes time on some improvements, but we are doing our best to provide more fun and rewarding game, so thank you for your patience very much.

On June 30, 2025 Title Update 2 fixed shader compilation, as well as reduced the load from anticheat systems by almost 90% Remedy also added DLSS 4 and FSR 4 support with the update that ramped frame rates and improved texture load times. Its upcoming Title Update 3 will be added by the end of September and is likely to start improving NPC and Seikret mount textures, and also allow Monster Hunter Wilds to run better on PCs.

Monster Hunter Wilds is facing some of just such optimization challenges, Tokuda added:

The higher the native amount of frames, the more the CPU is also being hit,

Tokuda said. Players must set the graphics settings to the maximum frame rate they can support on their hardware. We know this might be of concern to some players because high CPU usage can lead to thermal throttling after long periods of play—especially with CPUs with known stability issues. We would like to be more careful because making changes to CPU processing will impact overall performance.

In Title Update 4 (between November 2025 — January 2026) we are planning further CPU load reduction and optimizations.

To the CPU load topic, we will be fixing that in the CPU load regarding the fourth title update this winter

Tokuda said. We will start the second stage of mitigating additional issues once the initial implementation is rolled out.”

On August 13, 2025, Monster Hunter Wilds Version 1.021 was released fix a few bugs but only at the endgame content and weapon balancing really “improves”, and not improve performance significantly. FAQ

Is Monster Hunter Wilds set to run better on PC in 2025?

Indeed, Capcom is planning “several updates, such as CPU optimization and texture improvements” over the course of winter 2025 and afterwards.

What did Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 2 fix?

Title Update 2 fixed shader compilation problems, lowered anti-cheat processing load, and included DLSS 4 and FSR 4 support to improve frame rates.

When is Title Update 4 coming out?

Worthy of note Title Update 4 is set for November 2025 – January 2026, detailing CPU load reductions and additional optimizations.

A Monster Hunter Wilds Version 1.021 Patch Note: A Scaleless/No Scales Improvement

This patch, Version 1.021, is largely dedicated to polishing up endgame content and balancing the weapons, adding several minor bug fixes without making significant improvement on performance.

What are the PC Monster Hunter Wilds optimization options?

Graphics options should be adjusted by players to help limit frame rates to their hardware as the CPU is heavily used in NBA 2K21, and this can lead to performance issues due to stuttering and dropping frame rates.
