One UI 8 Watch Beta Testing Begins for Galaxy Watch5 Series

Samsung’s getting ready to roll out a big update for its smartwatches. The company just kicked off beta testing for One UI 8 Watch on the Galaxy Watch5 and Watch5 Pro. That means the update isn’t far from hitting users’ wrists — at least in South Korea and the U.S., where testing usually starts.

This comes right after Samsung launched the Galaxy Watch8 and Watch8 Classic, both of which already have One UI 8 Watch out of the box.

The new beta software — version R905NK0U1CYCD for the Watch5 and R925NK0U1CYCD for the Watch5 Pro — just showed up on Samsung’s servers. It’s aimed at Korean models first, but it’s expected to land in the U.S. pretty soon too.

People in the know say the beta program will go live in South Korea and the U.S. first. Samsung hasn’t given any exact dates yet for when the beta (or the final version) will reach more users, but it usually starts small and expands bit by bit.

So what’s new in One UI 8 Watch? It brings better health tracking, some speed boosts, and a few design tweaks to make the watch feel fresher. Basically, it brings older watches like the Watch5 and Watch5 Pro closer to the experience of the brand-new Watch8.

No official release date yet, and like all beta software, there might be bugs and hiccups. But if you’re into trying things early, Samsung might soon let you sign up to test it.

This early testing also shows that Samsung’s serious about keeping its watches updated longer, which is great news for anyone still rocking a Watch5.

More info should be coming soon as Samsung pushes ahead with the rollout.
