The OnePlus 13, which recently launched in China, has just received a software update that introduces a Macro Mode to its camera features.
This update allows users to capture intricate close-up images using the phone’s 50MP ultrawide camera. To access this mode, simply look for the new petal icon in the camera app.
OnePlus has established a reputation in the smartphone industry by providing high-end features at competitive prices, and the OnePlus 13 is no different, offering remarkable specifications such as a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and a substantial 6,000 mAh battery.
However, what truly distinguishes this phone is its camera system. On the back, it is equipped with three 50MP cameras branded by Hasselblad.
This setup includes a primary camera for standard photography, an ultrawide camera with a 120-degree field of view for capturing wide landscapes, and a periscope telephoto camera that offers 3x optical zoom to bring distant subjects closer. Additionally, for those who enjoy taking selfies, there is a 32MP front-facing camera.

The OnePlus 13 features a stunning 6.82-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring that scrolling and animations appear exceptionally smooth.
Additionally, it includes an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner integrated into the display, making it quick and easy to unlock the device. Under the hood, the OnePlus 13 is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and operates on Android 15.
It offers a remarkable 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, although global versions are expected to include 12GB/256GB and 16GB/512GB options. One of the most impressive aspects of the OnePlus 13 is its large 6,000 mAh battery, which should easily provide enough power for a full day of use, even with heavy activity.
When it comes time to recharge, the phone supports ultra-fast 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The OnePlus 13 also has an IP69 rating, indicating it is highly resistant to dust and water. Currently, it is only available in China, and OnePlus has not yet announced when it will be released in other markets.
This update has certainly captured my attention, and I am eager to see how the Macro Mode performs in practical use and how it compares to competing devices. I am also hopeful that OnePlus will announce the global release date soon.
