It has been over a year since Oppo launched its premium foldable smartphone, the Find N3. Unfortunately, the Chinese manufacturer has struggled to keep up the momentum, as its next foldable device will not be released this year.
The Oppo Find N5 was once speculated to launch in the first quarter of 2025, particularly during the initial three months of that year.
According to reliable insider Smart Pikachu, the Find N5 is anticipated to be the most powerful foldable smartphone in the first half of 2025.
This raises doubts that any other brand will unveil a foldable phone that rivals or surpasses the capabilities of the Find N5. The tipster also revealed that the Oppo Find N5 will come equipped with a circular camera module containing three 50-megapixel sensors.
The primary reason the Find N5 is expected to be the most powerful foldable at launch is its incorporation of Qualcomm’s newly unveiled Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, which is not surprising.
Furthermore, Smart Pikachu mentioned an intriguing feature involving an “enhanced metal texture,” indicating that the phone’s design will be notably more visually appealing than its predecessors.
The tipster also claims that the Find N5 will support wireless magnetic charging, which is a welcome addition, and it will be compatible with Apple’s ecosystem.
Additionally, the Find N5 is expected to be thinner and lighter than any of Oppo’s prior foldable smartphones. Oppo has a busy agenda in the coming months, with at least one other flagship model, the Find X8 Ultra, set to launch early next year.
China, being one of the largest markets for foldable devices, has witnessed many local brands embracing this new “holy grail” design.
The Find N series showcases Oppo’s response to the growing demand for foldable smartphones, both domestically and globally. However, as the company’s foldables become more advanced, they also become pricier, which may lessen their competitiveness. The Find N5 is likely to be Oppo’s most powerful and expensive foldable smartphone to date.
