The Android 16 update arrived much ahead of the estimated date in June, taking the users by surprise all over the globe. This early arrival raised the hopes of many Oppo phone users that their devices would consequently get the Android 16 update a little quicker than normal. Sadly, a lot of Oppo phone owners should not expect newly-announced Android 16 OS update release, as these following Oppo models have reached their end-of-life and are officially no longer eligible for future OS and security updates.
Whether you have an Oppo Find N foldable, a premium Find X model, a mid-range Reno series device, or a budget-friendly Oppo A or F series phone, you’re likely excited to try some of the tweaks and fresh features in the Android 16 update, more so since automakers usually take weeks or months to roll out new Android versions on the Android Auto platform. But it won’t be available to every Oppo user.
Here is the list of Oppo devices (thanks to Oppo’s software policy and company’s update history) that won’t get the Android 16.

What it Means for Oppo Users
If it’s on this list, it’s almost certain that you won’t get Android 16. Although this is disappointing, it’s in line with Oppo’s typical approach to software. Oppo typically offers two or three years of major Android updates based on the model and price tier. Most of the devices on this list have already gotten their upgrade.
It’s definitely not a comprehensive list though. Oppo has not provided an official list of devices that will get the update to Android 16. This list is compiled from current update trends as well as historical support statistics. We will share more details along with the Oppo Android 16 update release date once the official one is published.
Why No Android 16 For These Devices?
Oppo only offers a limited number of major Android versions that its devices can be upgraded to. Flagships such as the Find X series usually receive up to three major Android updates, while budget and mid-range phones may receive just one or two of these. And given most of these aforementioned phones are already running Android 14 or have been updated to Android 15, they wouldn’t be able to get the Android 16 installment as per the current set of rules.
What Oppo Users Can Do Next
If your gadget is out of the running to receive the update, you still have a couple of choices:
- Stay with the version of the software you have now, which at least is probably going to get some security patches for a while.
- You may want to get a new Oppo version that will run Android 16.
- Keep an eye for unofficial support or custom ROMs for advanced users.
