Xiaomi is believed to be gearing up to release its upcoming mid-range phone, the Poco X8 Pro, which will be rebranded as the global variant of the Redmi Turbo 5. Although there is no official word from Xiaomi, a new leak from Digital Chat Station has shared some of the initial details about the design and hardware of the Poco X8 Pro.
The leaked shows reveal the Poco X8 Pro will sport a 6.6-inch display with a large R-angle and 1.5K resolution, down in size from the 6.67-inch panel on the Poco X7 Pro. This new design hints at a smaller body that wouldn’t skimp on any display authenticity.
One of the big upgrades is the metal mid-frame which is a great improvement over the plastic body on its predecessor. This doesn’t just mean the phone should have more longevity, it also imparts a more premium feel in the hand – which is something relatively new to Xiaomi’s mid-range world.
Among important key aspects from the leak, the Poco X8 Pro will come with a slim but bigger battery. While no exact capacity has been revealed, it could provide the same or a better performance compared to the 6,550 mAh battery present in the Poco X7 Pro that avails 90W fast charging.
To put that into context, users can fully utilize this fast-charging speed with compatible accessories—for example, the Ugreen Nexode 25K power bank—with 145W output, which sells for $74.99 on Amazon. Such attachments can help cut down on downtime for power users too.
As far as the processor is concerned, the exact details are not provided in the leak, but the Dimensity 8500 Ultra SoC is most likely to provide a consistent and power efficient experience when it comes to gaming, multitasking, and media playback.
At the same time, there have been reports that Xiaomi is also producing the Redmi Turbo 5 Pro that will be available worldwide as the Poco F8. Rumours say it may come with a colossal 8,000 mAh+ battery, making it a battery-centric monolith in the mid-tier.
Couple that with whispers it’ll pack a 1.5K display and premium metal build, all with light battery composition, and it sounds as though the Poco X8 Pro is going to be a serious shakeup in the Xiaomi global middle ground selection. The product will be available globally in late March 2026, after a debut in China.
