The new REDMAGIC phone is ready to launch, and it comes with excellent premium hardware upgrades and several world firsts for smartphones. REDMAGIC is a gamer-focused brand, and its phones fully reflect that. Everything about the new REDMAGIC 10 Pro, from the design to the display, from the hardware to the gaming triggers, from the speakers to the battery, screams “heavy”. So, let’s start from the beginning:
It’s no surprise that the new REDMAGIC 10 Pro is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite, the first 3 nm chip from Qualcomm that achieved impressive benchmark results upon its release.
The REDMAGIC 10 Pro is designed to maintain high performance during extended sessions, utilizing a custom liquid metal composite—usually found in gaming laptops or high-end desktops—to dissipate heat to a vapor chamber and a graphene sheet. Adding to its impressive cooling system is a high-speed fan that operates at 23,000 RPM. Additionally, the REDMAGIC 10 Pro includes a custom co-processor, the Red Core R3, which is an AI chip that enhances performance with features such as double frame insertion (which smooths animations further), 2K upscaling, smart power and thermal management, and AI-assisted stabilization.
Furthermore, it offers generous memory options, coming in configurations of 12GB / 256GB, 16GB / 512GB, and 24GB / 1TB of LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage.
When you view the REDMAGIC 10 from the front, you’ll notice its expansive rectangular display surrounded by an impressively thin 1.25 mm bezel. This design results in an outstanding screen-to-body ratio of 95.3%, a record-setting figure that maximizes the phone’s body around the display.
You’ll also see that the screen features a seamless image with no cutout or notch for the selfie camera, as it is cleverly concealed beneath the display and activates only when needed. The sleek design extends to the back as well, where you’ll find no camera bump, making the REDMAGIC 10 completely flat. This means you can comfortably lay it on a table, hold it for extended gaming sessions, or attach a controller without worrying about any protrusions interfering with your fingers or accessories. Additionally, as a gaming phone, it includes shoulder triggers built into the frame.
A dedicated hardware button allows you to enter gaming mode and eliminate any unwanted distractions, effectively transforming the REDMAGIC 10 into a handheld console with just the flip of a switch.
The front display features a 1.5k AMOLED panel with a resolution of 2688 x 1216 pixels and a refresh rate of 144Hz. However, since this is a gaming phone, there’s more to it. It boasts an impressive average touch sampling rate of 960Hz, ensuring that your touches, taps, and swipes are registered almost instantly. This responsiveness is fantastic for gaming and also enhances the overall user experience during everyday use. The screen is equipped with an ultra-thin anti-glare polarizer and achieves a peak brightness of 2,000 nits, providing comfortable viewing in various lighting conditions.
All of this is backed by a powerful 7,050mAh battery located at the rear of the phone. Thanks to a 25% increase in density, its dimensions remain unchanged, while its capacity has significantly increased. That’s a substantial battery, and the good news is that the REDMAGIC 10 supports fast charging up to 100W. It even includes a compact 80W GaN charger in the box.
You can reserve yours for just $1 from December 12th to December 17th and enjoy a $30 discount off the sale price when it launches on December 18th. The regular MSRP starts at $649 for the 12GB / 256GB model.
