But here’s where the K Pad really starts to shine: how much juice it sips and how cool it stays. Playing Honor of Kings, the Legion Y700 guzzled 9.8W, and the RedMagic used 6.2W. The K Pad, though? It delivered the same smooth gameplay chugging just 5.7W. That’s pretty impressive. And the temperature? Same story. The K Pad topped out at a comfy 42.8°C, while the RedMagic hit 45.3°C and the Legion Y700 wasn’t far behind at 45°C.
It’s not just a one-trick pony, either. This advantage held up in Genshin Impact, another beast of a game. Again, all three kept a steady 119.9 FPS. But when you look at the power draw, it’s déjà vu. K Pad: 6.9W. Legion Y700: 8.5W. RedMagic: 7.5W. Temps were pretty similar too: K Pad at 43°C, Legion at 42.9°C, and the RedMagic, well, it was the warmest again at 45.2°C.
So, what’s the secret sauce? A big part of it is that Dimensity 9400+ chip – it’s a beast for performance but also super efficient. Plus, it seems Redmi’s made some smart design choices. Sure, the Legion Y700 has an 8.8-inch LCD (900 nits HBM), and the RedMagic goes even bigger and brighter with its 9-inch OLED (a whopping 1600 nits HBM). But all that brightness? It means more heat and drains the battery faster.
The K Pad, on the other hand, rocks an 8.8-inch 3K+ LCD with a silky-smooth 165Hz refresh rate. You pair that screen with a hefty 7,500mAh battery, and suddenly you’ve got a killer setup for gamers who want to play for ages without their tablet melting or dying on them.
With launch day getting closer, it’s pretty obvious the REDMI K Pad isn’t just another mid-ranger. It feels like they’ve really listened to what mobile gamers actually need.
