Samsung is on a roll with its next-gen software deployment and now One UI 8 testing kicks off for two more foldables — the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4. This comes after initial tests kicked off for the Galaxy A55 and the Galaxy S24 FE, first devices to set One UI 8 off.
One UI 8 firmware for the Galaxy Z Fold4 and Galaxy Z Flip4 has been seen on Samsung servers not long ago and appears to be proof that the South Korean company is hammering away at the latest update for its 2022 foldables. It’s early days for the One UI 8 testing phase, but it’s a strong sign from Samsung that it has a substantial upgrade in mind for its popular foldable phones.
While the Galaxy Z Fold4 and Galaxy Z Flip4 users probably have to wait a while before One UI 8 flahses their way to you, the internal development has already kicked off. Many countries around the world have already got the One UI 7 update on these handsets. And if you’ve not gotten One UI 7 yet you can always manually check for it by going to Settings > Software update on your phone.
The Z Fold and Flip4 haven’t even rolled out to the public yet, and Samsung hasn’t confirmed anything yet about when it’ll receive its next One UI skin. Once One UI 8 has been officially released, users can look forward to enhanced UI performance, optimized battery, new Galaxy AI features and security improvements.
The Galaxy Z Fold4 and Galaxy Z Flip4 are two of Samsung’s top of the line foldables available, and ensuring that the two handsets receive the latest software with One UI 8 is crucial to longevity and user experience. Samsung is clearly gearing up for a wider rollout, as more devices are entering the One UI 8 beta testing.
Samsung’s long-term commitment to software updates means that even aged premium handsets such as the Z Fold4 and Flip4 won’t become abandoned devices. With development of One UI 8 now underway for the two mainstream Galaxy S9 and Note9 variants, users now have confidence that their devices are still part of the growing Galaxy universe.
We’ll keep close watch on the rollout of One UI 8 for additional Samsung handsets over the coming weeks.
