The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra isn’t even official yet, but one that hasn’t stopped a recent firmware leak from making it out into the world, which confirms the phone’s key features. The leak is also a semi-official acknowledgement to recent rumors and more clearly paves the way for what to expect on Samsung’s next Ultra flagship.
Per the firmware information, the Galaxy S26 Ultra will have 60W fast charging, which is a big improvement over the Galaxy S25 Ultra. While Samsung hasn’t said anything about the Galaxy S26 series, the fact that this firmware found its way online suggests this early on that faster charging is indeed in the cards.
Firmware suggests 60W charging for Galaxy S26 Ultra
As a pic shared over at X by Erencan Yılmaz shows, there are blatant mentions of a 60 watt fast charge ond limit in the coding.

That said, it backs up recent mutterings from popular Chinese tipster Ice Universe who previously said that the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra would come with 60W fast charging, a 5,000mAh battery and a thinner chassis of less than 0.31 inches.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra
256GB Smartphone, Unlocked Android, AI Night Mode Camera, Snapdragon 8 Elite Fast Processor, 5000mAh Battery, Built-in S Pen, 2025, US 1 Yr Warranty, Titanium Black
These findings pretty much confirm Samsung is going to up its flagship’s charging speeds—something its rivals Xiaomi and OnePlus have already been pursuing for some time.
Galaxy S26 Ultra confirmed to have with One UI 8.5
In addition to the hardware bump, the firmware dump also suggests that the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra will be running a brand new software called One UI 8.5 based on Android 16 when it launches. This fits in line with Samsung’s update pattern, as One UI 8 is already available on the recently released Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7.

One UI 8.5 is rumored to be a stopgap update for those who are waiting for One UI 9 – arrived with Android 17 – sometime in summer 2026. The 8.5 version of One UI will most probably bring better Galaxy AI features, multitasking improvements and UI enhancements that take advantage of the formidable new silicon that is expected to power the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra.
Why this leak matters
While the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra won’t be officially released for months yet, this firmware leak adds a great deal of substance to recent murmurs.

The fact that 60W fast charging has also been found in the code is a clear sign of what we can expect. With faster charging, polished software in One UI 8.5 and of course, the potential AI features, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is easily among the most exciting phones of 2026.
Final Thoughts
With Samsung still innovating, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is already looking like a huge step forward in both software and hardware. With 60W fast charging and One UI 8.5 being confirmed, we know that a premium flagship with the perfect mix of power, speed and smarts is just around the corner for users. More leaks and specifics are anticipated in the following weeks, keep an eye out for those.
