Ulefone Armor X16 (Ulefone) The Ulefone Armor X16 is the newest addition to Ulefone’s range of rugged smartphones. Nothing here is terribly impressive, but it is designed to be rugged and to thrive outdoors: the Ulefone Armor X16 phones are IP68 certified, feature a 10,360 milliampere-hour battery, an IR night vision camera, and shock-resistant body — all for $168. That makes it among the cheapest rugged smartphones on the market with such a feature-set.
The ULEFONE Armor X16 is certified to IP69K, IP68, and MIL-STD-810H, providing protection against water, dust, and accidental drops. It’s built for harsh conditions, so it’s great for adventurers, field employees, or anyone who needs reliability from a smartphone.
The device is not thin, as it measures 17.95mm, and it’s also quite thick, while it weighs 394.5 grams. There’s also a fairly big 5,160mAh battery that comes with 33W of fast charging, which should keep you up and running for a longer duration without thinking about having to rush to the charger.

The Ulefone Armor X16 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G91 processor. It doesn’t have a 5G modem, but for most of you who are in remote or rural areas, LTE is good enough. Running the show on the smartphone is 6GB of RAM along with 128GB of internal storage, which should offer sufficient space for your apps and media along with offline maps.
The Ulefone Armor X16 features a 6.56-inch IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for protection. It has a resolution of 1612 x 720 pixels, supports a 90Hz refresh rate and features a peak brightness of 910 cd/m² ensuring it remains legible under bright lighting conditions.
In terms of the camera section, the Ulefone Armor X16 consists of a primary sensor of 48MP, with a 2MP macro lens and a night vision camera with 20MP, which uses the accompanying IR technology. That’s what makes the Ulefone Armor X16 an ideal device for low light photography, adventure outings at night, or tactical situations.
Other key features include fingerprint unlocking, an IR blaster, flashlight, and Android 15 out of the box. For military applications, it is a two-in-one device providing a flashlight and IR blaster.

Now, while it is only available as a direct import from China, Ulefone sells phones via other sites, including Amazon (see the Ulefone Armor 34 Pro 5G ), then the Ulefone Armor X16 could soon appear with local warranty equivalent. Until then buyers, beware that the warranty might not be honored locally when ordering overseas.
In the end, Ulefone Armor X16 offers a budget and durable, runs more, and is also a week-long version with Night vision while only costing half the price of others, for other cheaper rugged phones built in 2025.
