Xiaomi’s upcoming 15 Ultra is set for a global release, similar to its predecessor, as confirmed by an executive. The official announcement for the phone is expected next month at the earliest.
In the meantime, we have the opportunity to view a live hands-on image for the first time. A tipster on X has shared the image below, which allegedly showcases the back of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra in all its splendor.
The camera module is large, similar to that of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, but the arrangement of the sensors, LED flash array, and Leica branding has changed.
The frame appears to have been redesigned to not extend into the back like it did with the 14 Ultra. This design aligns more closely with recent trends seen among other manufacturers.
Notably, the camera module features a red ring, and the black color variant has a textured glass finish that may shimmer when it catches the light.
Rumors suggest that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will include a 200 MP periscope telephoto camera, an additional 50 MP short-range telephoto lens, a 1-inch main camera utilizing the Sony Lytia LYT-900 sensor, and a 50 MP ultrawide camera with Samsung’s ISOCELL JN5.
It is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC and to run Android 15 with Xiaomi’s HyperOS 2 on top. Additionally, the phone is anticipated to feature a 6,000 mAh battery that supports 90W wired and 50W wireless charging.
