Xiaomi is not through with tablets in 2025. After the Xiaomi Pad 7S Pro and the Redmi K Pad, the company is now readying yet another flagship tablet, allegedly to be known as the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro. The Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro might be announced alongside the Xiaomi 16 series smartphones later in the year, possibly in late September to early October, as per a reliable Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station.
Although an upgrade is hoped for, the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro is expected to stick with an IPS LCD panel rather than upgrading to OLED. The size of the display is expected to fall in between 11 and 12 inches, a trend seen in recent past where OLED panels are still reserved for the phone and not the tablet.
According to the report, the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro will be fueled by Snapdragon 8 Elite, making this the most powerful Android tablet we can expect to see in 2025. The device is also rumored to feature a “large battery,” although there is no official word on battery size as of yet.

Gaming seems to be the centerpiece of the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro. The leak teases those exclusive gaming-focused features, though it’s not entirely clear if that means hardware improvements, software optimization, or just that you’ll get a few accessories in the box. But in light of Xiaomi’s recent forays into the gaming arena, dedicated cooling solutions or performance modes could be in store.
Introduction Before we begin, let us first discuss the upcoming Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro alongside its predecessor. These are the ones that have come out until now:The Xiaomi Pad 7S Pro had a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 married to 12GB of RAM, and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. It sported an 11.2-inch IPS LCD, running at 144Hz with HDR10 and Dolby Vision, and 800 nits of peak brightness.
Xiaomi Pad 7S Pro also included a 15-based Android with HyperOS 2 skin, stylus support, quad-speaker setup, and a 50MP main shooter paired with a 2MP depth helper at the back. For selfies and video calling, a 32MP ultrawide front camera was responsible. It was fueled by an 8850mAh battery with fast charging of 67W (40% in just 20 minutes).
So the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro is expected to sort of be keeping to this recipe, but will pilot a better raw horsepower and perhaps better game console integration. Xiaomi opting to stay away from OLED in its more premium tablets will no doubt be disappointing for some fans, but its performance chops and gaming-focus could still help it find a place in the congested tablet space.
Thanks to the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC and a presumably 12-inch IPS screen the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro could be a perfect companion for all those who look for high speed performance coupled with a great multimedia experience and gaming on a huge Android tablet.
