Asus is preparing for the launch of its upcoming flagship smartphone, the Zenfone 12 Ultra, set for February 6. With the release date approaching, the company is releasing hints about what to expect. Recently, Asus teased the Zenfone 12 Ultra, suggesting a significant design change.
The image shared by the Taiwanese company offers a vague look at the phone’s display, revealing little more than a blurry view. From what we can discern, it features a punch-hole selfie camera, slim bezels, and rounded corners.
It also appears that there may be some exciting new color options this time. I genuinely hope the Zenfone 12 Ultra receives a substantial redesign, as the camera module on the back of the Zenfone 11 Ultra is not my preferred aesthetic (just take a look at the cover photo for a reminder).
Let’s hope Asus avoids repeating that design. Fortunately, we won’t have to wait long to see their new creation—just a few more days! Previous rumors suggest that, similar to how the Zenfone 11 Ultra shares many features with the ROG Phone 8, the upcoming Zenfone 12 Ultra will have a comparable feel to the ROG Phone 9.
This new model is anticipated to be powered by the impressive Snapdragon 8 Elite, along with up to 16 GB of RAM for support.

The Zenfone 12 Ultra is set to include 4K video capabilities that ensure your subject remains sharp and focused, even during movement.
While details about the camera hardware are still being kept secret, we do know that AI will significantly enhance mobile photography in this model.
Additionally, you can anticipate a substantial 5,800 mAh battery and a 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED display.
The phone is also expected to have an IP68 rating, providing robust protection against dust and water. Overall, the Zenfone 12 Ultra is emerging as a formidable competitor, poised to challenge the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
With Asus moving up the launch date this year (compared to last year’s model, which was released in March), it’s evident that the company is targeting Samsung’s flagship directly.
The timing appears deliberate—while the Galaxy S25 Ultra has already been announced, it won’t be available until February 7. Asus’s flagship launching on February 6 offers a timely alternative for consumers still considering their options.
